INGLEWOOD, CA (02/25/2021) Partnering with Denny’s, U.S.VETS — Inglewood will serve hundreds of hot meals to homeless and at-risk veterans affected by the COVID–19 pandemic via the Mobile Relief Diner. The Mobile Relief Diner, which arrives to U.S.VETS — Inglewood on Friday, February 16th and starts serving at 11:00 AM, is a fully functional diner on wheels designed by Denny’s to serve free meals to those in need. Friday’s visit will mark the second time the Denny’s Mobile Relief Diner has provided meals to veterans at U.S.VETS — Inglewood. Last November, in honor of Veterans Day, the Denny’s Mobile Relief Diner served breakfast and lunch to hundreds of veterans and their families.
In recognition of the joint effort supporting veterans, Assemblywoman Autumn Burke’s office will be presenting Denny’s and U.S.VETS — Inglewood with a certificate of appreciation starting at 11:00 AM. Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts will in attendance and will volunteer to help distribute meals to veterans.
“Veterans have made the ultimate sacrifice; they served our country with honor and dignity. Our veterans and their families are deeply affected by difficulties brought on by the pandemic. We are here to serve those who served us by assisting with housing, food, employment, and comprehensive support,” said Larry Williams, Interim Executive Director for U.S.VETS — Inglewood. “We are grateful for our collaboration with Denny’s because it is an example of a community alliance needed to assist veterans and their families during this time of need.”
