U.S.VETS — Long Beach recently applied for Los Angeles 15th District Councilman Buscaino’s Community Grant. A total of $3 Million will be awarded to nonprofits from Watts to the Waterfront that have an idea or project that will transform a community. The process of application was simple: submit a proposal, applications were vetted by the councilman’s office to ensure criteria were met, and then it is in the hands of the community who will vote to select the grant recipients.
A proposal of $100,000 was submitted to help us expand outreach efforts by making our team mobile and reach even more veterans and individuals facing homelessness. We are grateful to announce that U.S.VETS — Long Beach has been selected for the next phase of the Buscaino Community Grant. Beginning May 10, 2021 residents and stakeholders within the Wilmington area can vote for our proposal in order to receive the funds and move our project forward. Voting ends at 11:59pm on May 31st.
Only one vote per LA resident, so after you cast your vote, encourage your friends and family to vote for U.S.VETS–Long Beach as well!
