Navigating the unfamiliar streets on foot, our determination to find a way out never wavered. In our darkest hour, the beacon of assistance came in the form of Daniella, a compassionate program intake specialist from U.S.VETS. The night before acceptance came, the police escorted us to HONU, a place where the promise of a better tomorrow awaited us.

Within a mere two weeks of our shelter stay, my husband secured employment through a workforce program referral, while I navigated the services of the Westside Coalition to obtain crucial documents for our family.
